LG KP500 Cookie

OK, Smart phones are not that hip in my locality and I’m one of the few people who happen to be a smart phone enthusiast. I had a “smart phone” once, it is made in China and I could do less with it. It is not even a smart phone to be exact so I sold it anyway in exchange of a better a product I guess. I bought this LG KP500 Cookie, a touch screen mobile handset that accordingly acts like a smart phone.

LG KP500 has the least price touch screen gadget in the market today. Not to mention of course the copy cats which has the lowest price tag but with compromising specs. So going through the KP500, it has the latest user Flash interface which by all means superb among the LG touch screens prior to cookie. The Latest user flash interface of LG cookie has a lot of animations and transition effects like scrolling and sweeping effects of the widgets. This product is very responsive and never have I tried lagging or crash of apps. The only backwater of the cookie is that you could not add widget unlike the other products out there.

The design is quite fascinating as it project simplicity. Beyond this simplicity is a feeling of cheerfulness brought about the cookie. It has a solid casing with a rubbery back which adds the charm of the cookie.

Undeniably cookie has fresh touch of resistive screens which require more pressure but is very sensitive. The screen by the way is a 3″ 256K WQVGA resolution. Imaging is quite superb when there is light; not quite good in the dark. It has a night mode yet could not capture a great shot since it doesn’t have a flash.

As I said earlier LG cookie isn’t a smart phone though it acts like one. Here are some of the specs of LG KP500

Chinese Sony MP5 Player

I couldn’t resist taking a review of Chinese product in the market. There are so many products branded as Mp5 with digital cameras on it. They are so cheap that we consumer would just grab it because we may think they are just the same with famous brands. Well here is the real score for those Chinese products.

Call my cousin a victim of curiosity. She really persuaded me to accompany her to this retail store that sells Chinese made mp5. She now then picks this Sony-Mp5 copycat, a good looking product with steel cover. Before she could buy it I ask her to try it first, check if the camera works, plays music, etc. Without a second thought she pays for it and we headed home. We uploaded some music about 300 songs for about two hours. After that we took some pictures of ourselves and we uploaded it to my computer. We then realized that the photos were a messed. See below.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Just recently my boss bought a new Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. I was a bit curious of what can this Smart platform design phone can give the user. Of course this is not the first time Nokia joined the touch technology and being at the bottom of touch competition, this device can definitely compete. To date this is the first touch device of Nokia running with Series 60 and it is branded with XpressMusic, very influential indeed. Nokia identifies itself with the prowess in mobile technology, did they incorporate this to N5800? Let us see.

As compared to its rival in the market, users including my boss told me that the touch screen sensitivity is not at its finest (iphone, Samsung and LG is far better). Furthermore, the creaks on it isn’t good to look as it gives an impression of being a slider like SonyEricsson-Xperia rather than a mono-block. The battery as stated can run for up to 35 hours of music playback yet this isn’t true. However, proper charging may extend the battery longevity.

So there you have it, this is just a little dose of Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. If you are planning to own one I hope this will serve as a review.
