My Nokia 2100i

This day I realized that gadgets depreciate so fast. I was fixing my things in my closet a while ago and I found my old mobile phone, the Nokia 2100i. Way back in college I have one of the most sophisticated phone, so everyone in class wanted to check this phone. This phone was released in 2003 so I immediately ask my parents to get me one. Well anyway this phone is a monochrome phone; it has a white backlight very much unique as compared with the Nokia 3315 which has a yellow backlight. It has a sleek design; it is smaller than its predecessor that was why it was very appealing for me.

Now it is stored in my closet I tried to turn it on and it’s still working. I had a Cingular network before, but now I am using the AT&T so it is still possible to get some signal. Would I ever want to use this phone again? Hmmm I don’t think this phone could give me everything I need. It can receive SMS, that’s fine though limited because almost all networks now uses GPRS signal right; Nokia 2100 is a GSM phone? Call? I guess it could not receive much signal as compared to newer phones so I think the line would be noisy or choppy. Wifi, hmm it has no feature like this. So what can I do with this phone? Maybe I could send it to a recycling plant or maybe give it to an organization that I have heard several days ago that they collect mobile phones and donate it somewhere else. Well that is all my rant for this day.
