It’s back up by research from the University of Osaka, which found that bad dining habits – like eating until full and gobbling food too quickly – can triple your chances of having a weight problem.
So it seems that our mothers were right to nag us about our table manners. Slowing down and chewing every mouthful thoroughly means you will be less inclined to overdo it on your portion sizes. As well as the obvious digestive system, as you’re putting it under less strain.
