Wine Galore

Wines are made distinct by virtue of their grape origin.

Wine has been called the drink of the gods but we people are entitled to its enjoyment. So nowadays whenever there are occasions I really spend for wines.

They say that wines are made distinct by virtue of their grape variety and origin. There are three kinds of wine I have tried to taste.

Chardonnay which is the most commonly available in the mall cost around $10. It is a variety from Burgundy, it has the aroma of green apple, citrus and pineapple. It tastes semi-sweet or sour, heady or light. I intend buying this kind when we have celebration like birthdays since it complements well with pasta as well as crabs.

Sauvignon Blanc is famous from the wine growing region of Bordeaux, France. The only available SauvignonBlanc though are those that are produced in New Zealand. It has a fruity and grassy aroma, tend to be acidic that help cut through the heavy flavor of food like seafood.

Just recently a friend of mine told me that Merlot, can complement well with chocolate. Since I have some chocolate at home, I went to the mall and bought Merlot plum flavor. Surely I wasn’t disappointed, the taste is complex and chewy. Perfect match for pork steak and chocolates.

I appreciate wine so much that I even searched on Napa Valley-one of the largest wine producing region on earth. Accordingly:

  • One barrel of wine equals roughly 20 cases, which equals 1200 glasses.
  • A ton of grapes makes about 720 bottles of wine or 60 cases.
  • One vine annually produces between four and six bottles of wine.
  • Each bottle of wine contains about 2.8 pounds of grapes.
  • There are between 15 and 45 clusters of grapes per vine.
  • Finally one acre of land is home to between 900 and 1,300 vines.
