My Skin is Resurfaced. Ouch

skin

Yesterday I undergone a therapy called Carbon dioxide or CO2 laser resurfacing. This procedure under medical supervision would reduce the visibility of scar in the skin due to some history of trauma. So what is it really? According to Medscape Carbon dioxide laser emits an invisible infrared beam at a 10,600-nm wavelenght, targeting both intracellular and extracellular water. When light energy is absorbed by water containing-tissue, skin vaporization occurs with production of coagulative necrosis in the remaining dermis. It was painful, but it’s bearable. On the lighter side things will change. My scars will definitely disappear as told by my physician. Though there are chances that it will darken, but she advised me to use some lightening cream to somehow speed up the normalization of skin tone. It will take 10 days or more to heal the resurfaced area so I just file my vacation leave and I will rest for a while.
